pray for benz and give a shout out!

this is not meant to be a pressure tactic, or one of those stupid Christian forwards that say if you don't forward you don't love God. pray and comment if you sense God wants you to... otherwise read and share in some one's story and be inspired no strings attached.

Hey anyone who knows Benz. (AKA Salem's buddy...AKA gr. 6 LG leader) read this story and pray for him. he is going through a bit of a tough time, and after talking to him and asking his permish' i am going to let everyone in on some stuff that is going on with him.

so you may or may not know that Benz is from Thailand. he hasn't been a Christian for a long time, and he is the only person in his family who is a Christian. he moved here last year to live with a Christian family and spend some time in Canada.

well recently his parents have become a little concerned that he has abandoned their family religion of Buddhism to follow Jesus.

it is hard for them to understand that he isn't rebelling against them as parents. they are having a hard time with it and are asking/demanding that he go back to Buddhism... they want him to bow down to their family idols when he goes home this summer. this is a big deal for him and his parents.

here is how you can pray for him...

1. pray that his good example will show his parents that being a Christian is a positive thing instead of a negative one.

2. pray that he will be able to explain why he cannot bow down to the idols in a respectful and courteous way.

3. pray that his parents would be won over to Jesus through God working in his life.

I have talked with Benz about this... this is not an easy time for him, but it is an important one in his faith. Benz is doing a great job of honoring his parents (like the Bible says) and also not giving in to their demands to become Buddhist again. i am very proud of him.

so i ask that you please pray and comment for him...THANKS
