things that point me towards God's existence pt. 2

1. creation - everywhere i look i see amazing creativity, whether it is the different people groups, animals, waterfalls, trees, mountains or the stars and the sky. where did it come from? the best explanation that science can give us is that there was nothing, then BANG! there was something! i find that explanation quite limp... i find it hard to believe that there wasn't some creative force that put all this amazingly complicated stuff here on earth... how could this be a huge accident?

2. Jesus - it is an undisputed fact that a man called Jesus lived and was killed on a cross. our entire calendar is based around him. tons of people who were writing books in Jesus day confirm that he existed.... think about this, if Jesus didn't die and come back to life, why would all of his disciples but one die to defend that lie? the one who didn't die was boiled in oil to make him admit that Jesus was a fake, and he didn't give in. why would he go through that do defend a lie?

3. other world religions - its funny that other world religions point me to the fact that there is a God. but why would every single people group in the world have the need to worship? it shows us that people everywhere are wired to believe in a God, we are spiritual creatures... we need a God. if we don't have one, we'll think one up. why do people everywhere need to have a GOd if it isn't written on their hearts?

4. my personal experience - God has made a huge difference in my life. i have experienced his love in such a real way. i have seen him answer prayers, and have a huge impact on the way my life has gone. God has become my friend in a personal way, and i choose to believe in him because i am getting to know him.

those are the first four reasons that came to my head. what are your top four. have i missed any big ones?

My top 4 are pretty close to yours.

1. I am a huge fan of creation. I actually want to burst into song sometimes when I see a beautiful mountain range, or a cool animal, or something like that. And when I was in Biology 11 & 12 (amazing classes... you youth should ALL take it one day) I got to learn in depth
about how amazingly complex our world is. From every creature in the food chain, to plants, and mostly, humans. I found myself amazed after every class and just wanting to praise God for how brilliant he is.

2. Jesus- what can I say. He's my hero. He died for us... you know the story. It's true, and it's absolutely amazing.

3. Family and Friends. God has placed these amazing people in my life and talked to me and blessed me through many of them in too many ways to try to count. I don't honestly know where I'd be without them.

4. God is actively involved in this world. He moves, and he speaks. I have heard his voice and can't deny it. And I have seen prayers be answered, and it is frigging sweet. Basically, cool stuff just doesn't happen because of humans.. we are totally inadequate, but God works through us and he makes good things happen (that was a weak sentence but you get the drift).

Hey Phil,
Mine also are like yours, but I think that the top one is Miracles; seeing what god has done for people around you. For example a few summers ago my uncle was working and holding up this big concrete wall, all of a sudden it started to shake and it fell on him. Luckly he got to the hospital right away or he could have probably died! Now you can't even tell he had the accident! That is one of the reasons I truely believe in God.

Have to go with creation. Go outside, go hike, breath the fresh air, (well stagment in Abbotsford, Fresh here in Montana). How can you say there is no God when all around Creation points to him? Think about this, (It might gross some of you out) baby calves grow inside big cows. It boggles my mind to think about that. That a live animal that weight almost a 100 pounds can come out of another living animal. Its just amazing. Creation is amazing, God is amazing. Just thinking about the littlest think, that does all the same things as me eats, drinks, walks, communicates, works. Its just amazing, and its hard to put words to. The only word that fits the discription is Amazing. God is Amazing.
